Camera Troubles

I have recently been having a lot of problems with my digital camera. Some days, although I have fully charged batteries, it will not turn on. This is extremely frustrating to me. How do you tell your kids to "hold that thought" when something cute is happening? Needless to say, I have become increasingly annoyed with it and I'm starting the search for a new one. Does anyone have any suggestions for a good, reliable camera? I could really use some input. Thanks!
