Have you ever felt like you are so busy that your head is spinning, yet at the same time you are not really getting anything done? Well, over the past few days, this has been my life. Today, I really need to catch my breath. I need to get my house in order, take care of some bills, and for sure, catch up on some blogging.
Lets see, now where did I fall off the blogging radar....Oh yes, Valentines Day. Mike and I are really in the save money mode. We are looking forward to the remodel of our house to start soon and are hoping for a vacation this year. So with that in mind, we agreed no presents. Roses although they are beautiful, fade away too quickly and I would rather the money be spent on something more permanent like my new kitchen, bedrooms, etc. So, we had a nice evening at home with the kids. Pizza for dinner and some movies and then the kids played playstation with Mike (who had another night off!). It was perfect!
That brings us to Sunday. We were up early Sunday for Sunday school and worship. After church services, we went to my parents house where my Dad and my boys made lunch for us. Meat loaf, macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes, and peas. Everything was delicious! The only problem is, when my dad cooks, he cooks big! He came from a family of 14 and he still cooks to feed all of his brothers and sisters. My parents will be having leftovers all week. LOL!
Yesterday, being President's Day, was a day off for Michael and Aaron. Poor Brandon had a snow make up day so he had to go to school. Boo! We did nothing. I did not even get dressed until noon. So now after my weekend of doing nothing, I have a ton of laundry to do!
So that was my weekend. Now that I am back, April from Straight From the Heart, tagged me to do a purse tag. This is a fun one and man am I glad I cleaned out my purse last week! Geesh, it was scary!
Here are the rules:
1. Post a picture of whatever bag you are carrying as of late. No, you cannot go up to your closet and pull out that cute little purse you used back before you had kids. I want to know what you carried today or the last time you left the house. No cheating!
2. I want to know how much it costs =). And this is not to judge. It is for entertainment purposes only. So, spill it. And, if there is a story to go along with how you obtained it, I'd love to hear it.
3. Tag some chicks. And link back to this post so people know what the heck you're showing everyone your bag.

So here it is, my bag! I have tried to carry something smaller, but it just does not work for me. I got this tote bag on clearance from Old Navy for $19. I like the extra pockets on the outside for my phone and sunglasses or anything else that I need to access easily.
Here is all the stuff that I have in there. It's actually a lot less than usual because I just cleaned it out last week.
my wallet
make up bag
church bulletins
Felicia and Madelyn's extra gloves
cell phone
several lip sticks and lip gloss
mascara
keys
a tampon
a bottle of water
sunglasses
pens
a hairbrush for the girls
some of Felicia's hair bows
Madelyn's bracelet
Glad that you got to relax and have some family time!

So fun! Cute bag!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great weekend! My hubby and I have a standing 'no presents' rule for Valentines. I agree that flowers fade to quickly and there are other things I would like to see or do! Sounds like a great weekend! I think some of the best days are the ones spent in our jammies!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Cute bag! I recently did a similar tag..but I wasn't brave enough to show what was inside (its usually ranges from diapers to lotion, to kids toys...quite sad actually)
I cleaned out my purse last week too, otherwise it is a mess!!! I just have my costco and sam's club cards, two debit cards, my drivers' lisence, insurance card, two check books, my passport and 2 lipsticks in my purse. Not very exciting!
ReplyDeleteI laughed at the church bulletins, I seem to always carry those around forever!
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to be sure and thank you for visiting me on my SITS day! And my husband carries church bulletins around forever as well...hmmm.
ReplyDeleteglad you had a good weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a nice relaxing weekend. Love the bag!
ReplyDeleteSnazzy bag you have there! That was fun! Your Valentine's Day sounds a lot like me. Give me a nice, relaxing day at home and I'm one happy camper!
ReplyDeleteOh...I'll have to do this one later! My bag will look nothing like yours!
ReplyDeletei did the bag thing a while back..i had LOTS of stuff in that thing..
ReplyDeleteyour V-Day sounds perfect to me!
I'll have to do this! Hopefully tomorrow!?
ReplyDeleteThat is such a cute bag! I did that bag tag yesterday and you have at least as much stuff in yours as I do in mine. But mine was a MESS! Yours is clean. I'm ticked.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely weekend! My mother always cooks big too. I know that I can always go over there for dinner because there will always be enough. I should tell her how much I appreciate that.
ReplyDeleteI feel like that every single second of every single day. Crazy busy, yet nothing is getting done. Oh well!
ReplyDeleteps I tried leaving a comment on JFF blog about the elephant idea. Tried twice, but it wasn't working - weird. I think it's my computer. Anyway, just wanted to let you know I love that idea! Any reason to put paint on my hands - count me in!
Oh. It was for the kids, not the adults? Oh well. Still count me in!
I often have days where I feel overwhelmingly busy yet don't feel like anything is getting done! I completely understand!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I think the purse tag is awesome...but I don't know if my makeshift purse (a.k.a. diaper bag) contents would fit into a single blog post. It would be ugly!
Sometimes I have to remind myself that this is the second month of the new year - I feel like I have been non stop since christmas and for some reason I keep thinking that was just a few weeks ago. V-day is all about love and sounds like you had a full day of love!! Thanks for sharing the pictures of your purse - That was fun!!
ReplyDeleteYour Vday sounded wonderful! The purse pictures were fun! I have tons of lip gloss...not mine...my six yr old is a lip gloss freak! I also usually have my son's PSP, hand sanitizer and other assorted oddities...my purse should not be for public viewing!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. A mum of five!! I take my hat off to you and I will never whinge about my three again lol. Off to read some more.
ReplyDeleteJust posted my pictures. Thanks for letting me play -what a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteI'd play along but I'm afraid to look...
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great Valentine's Day to me.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how much stuff I carry in my bag now - the whole mommy thing really adds to the essentials.
Thanks for the Welcomista list - it's a great idea.
(And I'll click an ad or two while I'm here).
I love bags like that. Pockets are my friend. LOL
ReplyDeleteThis is such a fun one. I have it on my bloggy post to-do list!
That sounds like a great weekend, with great food.
ReplyDeleteThat is one good looking bag for a great price. Is your phone purple? That is so cool!
This is a fun tag. Man, I have a few things I want to post. I still wanna do that first born meme.
Oh, I just love this! And your bag looks so organized! I would totally have to edit before taking pictures of the dark recesses of my daily bag! And love your blog, so fun and uplifting!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing what bags ladies are carrying these days. I do have a bit of a purse/bag/tote obsession. Great post!
ReplyDeleteCute bag! You are so brave! Even after cleaning it out, I would hesitate before posting pics of my bag's interior! YOUR contents are great, the perfect balance between things of your own with enough kiddie stuff to show you're a mom!
ReplyDeleteP.S. Love the photos of your beautiful kids and blinged out puppy on the sidebar!
You've been a busy busy bee!! *exhale*
ReplyDeleteCute purse! =D
I'm so glad you did this!! I LOVE seeing everyone else's stuff, lol! Good luck!
